Event Description

The Driving the Vote for Equality Tour will be stopping in Rochester on Memorial Day, May 25, to raise awareness and mobilize support for the federal Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Please note that this is not a LWV-RMA event.

A highlight of this stop will be the Golden Flyer II, a restored 1914 golden Saxon automobile that suffragists once used to promote women’s suffrage. You’ll have the unique opportunity to take photos with this historic vehicle and learn about the importance of the ERA at a Memorial Day ERA Rally.

Event Details:

Memorial Day ERA Rally: 2:00 PM featuring former Rep. Carolyn Maloney, longtime champion of the ERA; Jeryl Schriever, author of “Driving the Vote for Women: An American Journey for Suffrage”; and local ERA Champions.
