Cody Donahue, Co-Executive Director of Reconnect Rochester

Reconnect Rochester has advocated for the last 15 years to advance safer streets and active transportation infrastructure in Monroe County, working at the grassroots level and the grasstops level with City, County, State and Federal officials. Since 2022, New York State has allowed suburban towns, villages and cities to lower their speed limits on local roads to 25 MPH. This session will give an overview of the advocacy that local residents can do to support their localities to support lower speed limits, which have been shown to improve safety for all users.
